Yes, The Gingpai Groin Guard uses a High-Density ABS Engineering Plastic Shell as its core. ABS engineering plastic is the same material used in professional-grade protective equipment. It deflects direct impact forces without flexing or cracking. Unlike cheap foam cups that compress on impact, the hard ABS shell holds its structure and disperses force away from the body. 

This is specifically engineered out of the product. The Thick EVA Foam Edge Padding wraps the entire perimeter of the hard shell  cushioning every contact point between the plastic and your skin. You get full hard-shell protection without the sharp edges. The Anatomical Curved Silhouette also means the guard sits flush against your body rather than sitting flat against it, which eliminates the pressure points that cause discomfort in cheaper guards.
